Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Public Health Officer who will play a critical role in designing and implementing community health initiatives in Mount Gambier. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in public health policies and community engagement, working collaboratively to improve public health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of community health needs and resources.
  • Design, implement and evaluate public health programs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations.
  • Develop educational materials for community outreach.
  • Monitor and report on health status indicators.
  • Advocate for public health policies that improve community health outcomes.
  • Organize health promotion activities and campaigns.
  • Provide health education sessions to community groups.
  • Work with local stakeholders to enhance health services accessibility.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field
  • Master's degree is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in public health or community health roles
