Job Description

As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for the care and welfare of detainees, ensuring their safety, security, and adherence to laws and regulations. The role requires a dedicated individual who values public safety while treating detainees with dignity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the behaviour of detainees and report violations.
• Assist in implementing policies and procedures for facility operations.
• Ensure detainee dignity and respect at all times.
• Provide immediate first aid or medical assistance if required.
• Conduct training sessions for new staff and detainees.
• Engage in professional development and attend relevant workshops.
• Support mental health initiatives for detainees.
• Collaborate with community resources to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Oversee transportation of detainees during court appearances.
• Maintain a conducive environment for personal development.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of Year 12 or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in a correctional or detention facility is desirable.

Certifications

• Current Driver's Licence
• National Police Check

Languages

• English: Fluent
