Job Description

We are looking for a talented Calliope Player to join our team. The successful candidate will engage in creating captivating music performances with the Calliope while collaborating with other artists and musicians.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Calliope to compose and perform original music pieces.
• Ensure the instrument is always in top working condition.
• Engage in creative collaboration with fellow musicians for live shows.
• Take part in sound checks and prepare for live performances.
• Perform at various local festivals, events, and private functions.
• Innovate performance styles to attract a diverse audience.
• Educate audiences about the Calliope and its history during shows.
• Assist management with scheduling and logistics for events.

Requirements

Education

• Equivalent experience with a focus on performance arts

Experience

• Experience in ensemble performances is a plus.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with steam-powered instruments: Understanding of the mechanics of the Calliope.
