Job Description

The Deaf Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating educational programs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role involves collaboration with other educators to develop inclusive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Implement and assess educational programs tailored for students with hearing impairments.
• Facilitate communication and interaction among students.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create cohesive learning strategies.
• Engage in ongoing communication with parents and guardians.
• Monitor and adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
• Utilize technology to enhance learning experiences for students.
• Provide advice and guidance on effective teaching strategies related to hearing impairments.
• Oversee student attendance and disability accommodations.
• Encourage inclusivity in the classroom for all students.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Education (Special Education) or equivalent
• Teaching qualification

Experience

• Preferred experience with Indigenous students and communities.
