Job Description

As the School Attendance Secretary, you'll play a vital role in the educational environment by maintaining accurate attendance records and managing attendance-related inquiries. This position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Your support will be essential in helping the school run smoothly and ensuring compliance with attendance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with state policies regarding student attendance.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers on attendance-related inquiries.
  • Facilitate parent-teacher meetings regarding attendance concerns.
  • Assure confidentiality of student records in compliance with privacy laws.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve student attendance.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote academic engagement.
  • Support school operations by assisting in other administrative duties as required.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture through effective communication.
  • Provide backup for other administrative functions as necessary.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in office administration or management are preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in administrative support roles, preferably in an educational setting
