We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The role involves conducting surveillance and investigations of health-related issues, particularly venereal diseases, and implementing strategies for disease prevention and control within the community.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveillance and investigation of reported cases of venereal diseases.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the prevention and control of venereal diseases.
  • Collaborate with public health professionals and community organizations to promote awareness and education.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor disease trends and identify outbreaks.
  • Provide guidance to healthcare providers on diagnosis, treatment, and management of venereal diseases.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for community stakeholders.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in grant writing and project management for public health initiatives.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Data Analysis Expertise in analysing public health data using statistical software.
  • Epidemiological Software Experience using tools like Epi Info and SAS for disease surveillance.
  • Communication Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills for public health messaging.
  • Problem-solving Able to identify and solve complex public health challenges.
  • Interpersonal Skills Skilled in effectively collaborating with diverse teams and communities.
  • Attention to Detail Meticulous in data collection and analysis for accurate reporting.
  • Certified in Public Health (CPH)
  • First Aid Certification
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Experience with sexually transmitted infections (STIs): Knowledgeable in the prevention and management of STIs and blood-borne viruses.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience in managing public health projects and initiatives.
