Job Description

As an Oxygen Therapist, you will provide critical oxygen therapy to patients suffering from respiratory conditions. This role requires hands-on patient care in various settings including hospitals and homes, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed patient assessments to ensure accurate oxygen therapy plans.
• Deliver oxygen therapy via various methods, assessing effectiveness continuously.
• Track and report any adverse reactions or complications.
• Assist in training new staff on oxygen therapy protocols.
• Utilize EMR software for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy or related field
• Registered with AHPRA

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory disorders
• Medical equipment proficiency

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Teamwork
