Join our team as a Certified Cytogenetic Technologist. Your main responsibility will be performing cytogenetic analyses to identify chromosomal abnormalities that could contribute to various genetic disorders. We seek a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in genetics who can contribute effectively to patient diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cytogenetic analyses with precision and attention to detail.
• Identify chromosomal abnormalities and prepare lab reports for healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with geneticists and laboratory staff for effective case management.
• Participate in internal audits and adhere to ISO standards.
• Maintain lab equipment and materials, ensuring their proper functionality.
• Train and mentor new staff members in laboratory procedures and safety practices.
• Conduct literature reviews to integrate new methodologies into practice.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Cytogenetics

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a clinical cytogenetic laboratory.

Technical Skills

• Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH)

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking

Certifications

• Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CCLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Bioinformatics Tools: Understanding of bioinformatics software for genetic data analysis.
• Proficiency in Laboratory Management Systems: Experience with LIMS for laboratory data management.
