Teaching Assistant

Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experiences of students. The position involves assisting with lesson preparations, supervising classroom activities, and providing one-on-one support to students as needed. Ideal candidates will be passionate about education and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Aid teachers with daily instructional tasks and classroom management.
• Foster a positive learning environment, ensuring all students feel valued.
• Guide students in small group sessions to enhance understanding of subjects.
• Implement strategies developed by teachers to assist in teaching.
• Assist in assessing and recording student performance and behaviour.
• Organize educational resources and materials for classroom use.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to curriculum discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma of Education Support or equivalent

Experience

• Experience working with special needs students is preferred

Technical Skills

• First Aid Certification
• Information Technology Skills

Advantageous

• Experience with educational technology tools: Familiarity with tools such as interactive whiteboards and online learning platforms.
