Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Criminal Judge to join our judicial team in Sydney. The successful candidate will preside over criminal trials, ensuring that justice is served and that all parties receive a fair trial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and writing judgments to ensure clarity and reasoning.
• Facilitate fair and impartial trials, ensuring all parties have equal opportunities.
• Monitor courtroom activity and maintain order during proceedings.
• Engage with the legal community to promote the integrity of the judicial system.
• Participate in training programs to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Develop policies and initiatives to improve the judicial process.
• Evaluate and mentor junior judges and judicial officers to enhance their skills.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and legal practitioners for smooth operations.

Requirements

Education

• Australian legal qualifications (LLB or JD)
• Admission as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of a state or territory in Australia

Experience

• At least ten years of legal experience as a barrister or solicitor, with extensive experience in criminal law.
