Job Description

As a Metal-Refining Furnace Operator, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining the furnace equipment used in the steel-making process. This role demands attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of furnace equipment and assist in quality control.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations during operations.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and part replacements.
• Keep a log of production metrics and equipment performance.
• Assist in planning production schedules to meet deadlines.
• Provide feedback to management regarding operational improvements and safety concerns.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant technical certifications highly regarded.

Experience

• Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Welding and Fabrication Skills
• Knowledge of CMMS

Soft Skills

• Flexibility
• Time Management

Certifications

• Forklift License

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Prior Experience in a Unionized Environment: Experience working under union contracts is preferred.
