Job Description

As a Harpooner at Marine Hunting Co., you'll play a crucial role in whale hunting operations. This physically demanding position requires a deep understanding of marine life, particularly whale behaviour, and the ability to work effectively in a team in high-pressure, dangerous conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt whales with harpoons, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
  • Conduct routine checks and repairs on hunting gear and tools.
  • Study whale populations and their behaviours for strategic planning.
  • Liaise with crew to ensure a streamlined operation.
  • Ensure the vessel remains in pristine condition.
  • Adhere to all marine hunting laws and regulations.
  • Compile detailed reports of hunting and whale interactions.
  • Support navigation efforts and boat handling.
  • Administer first aid and emergency responses as needed.
  • Participate in skills improvement seminars focusing on safety and hunting methods.

Requirements

Education
  • Marine Biology or related field
  • Valid Commercial Marine License
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in effective whale hunting or similar maritime roles.
