Job Description

As a Nuclear Power Reactor Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating and maintaining nuclear power plant equipment and systems. You will ensure safe and efficient operations while adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to any unusual operating conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate reactor systems to maintain safe nuclear operations.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare analytical reports on reactor performance and system data.
  • Implement and maintain safety and emergency response protocols.
  • Work closely with engineering and safety teams to optimise plant operations.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety.
  • Document all operational activities accurately.
  • Handle radioactive materials in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex system issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with the control room and field teams.
  • Contribute to training efforts for new staff on operational procedures.
  • Conduct routine checks on emergency systems and equipment.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining nuclear power plant equipment.
