Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Social Science Research Assistant to join our team in Canberra. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting comprehensive historical research, collecting data, and maintaining documentation to support ongoing projects that highlight Australia’s rich heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough research on assigned historical topics and present findings.
  • Help maintain the database of historical documents and resources.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate research activities.
  • Draft detailed research reports and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Engage with the public through educational events and outreach programs.
  • Analyze data trends and compile statistics for various projects.
  • Support the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to the research team.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in History or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role or project.
