Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Crew Boss to lead our firefighting team in Canberra. In this role, you will oversee crew operations, ensuring safety and efficiency while engaging in firefighting and prevention initiatives. Your leadership will drive our mission to protect the community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily firefighting operations, ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently.
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards throughout the crew's tasks.
  • Develop and update training materials for ongoing crew education.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with local agencies for community safety initiatives.
  • Track and manage crew schedules and workload.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Lead stress management and health promotion initiatives within the team.
  • Act as a liaison between crew members and upper management.
  • Oversee incident command procedures during firefighting operations.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Higher certifications in emergency management are preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working in firefighting services with leadership experience preferred
