Job Description

As a Domestic Violence Counselor, you'll provide crucial counseling and support to individuals affected by domestic violence. You'll work closely with clients to help them navigate their trauma, develop coping strategies, and provide access to community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct crisis intervention and safety assessments for clients.
  • Advocate for clients by informing them about legal options and support services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in regular supervision to enhance counselling skills.
  • Engage in community education to promote awareness of domestic violence.
  • Provide culturally competent care to diverse client populations.
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies and resilience.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
