Looking for a talented Insurance Underwriter to enhance our Bendigo branch. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing risks, underwritings policies and providing excellent customer service. We need someone who thrives under pressure and possesses a thorough understanding of the insurance landscape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of insurance applications.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation.
• Make informed decisions on policy approval or denial.
• Monitor ongoing claims to ensure they align with policy terms.
• Engage in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Document all communications and decisions effectively.
• Assess the impact of market changes on existing policies.
• Contribute to team meetings to discuss underwriting strategies.
• Provide insights based on analysis of past underwriting results.
• Ensure timely policy renewals and amendments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance
• Postgraduate degree in Insurance or Risk Management is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years in insurance underwriting or relevant experience

Technical Skills

• Financial Modelling
• Data Analysis

Certifications

• Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
• Certificate IV in Financial Services (Insurance)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in the claims process: Understanding of the claims process from an underwriting perspective.
