Job Description

We're on the lookout for a talented Legal Counsel to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will provide expert legal guidance on various matters including compliance, contract negotiations, and corporate governance. You will play an essential part in ensuring our legal strategy aligns with business objectives while safeguarding our interests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on corporate compliance matters.
  • Draft and negotiate various contractual agreements.
  • Research and interpret laws to provide guidance on regulatory issues.
  • Work closely with external legal advisors to manage litigation matters.
  • Develop training materials to educate staff on legal responsibilities.
  • Assist in internal investigations and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Prepare legal opinions on specific queries from the business units.
  • Contribute to risk management and compliance programmes.
  • Monitor and review legal developments that may impact the business.
  • Support other legal department functions as needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Law
  • Additional specialisation in Corporate Law is preferred
Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in a corporate legal environment
