Job Description

Join our passionate team as an Animal Trainer, where you will train and develop hearing dogs to assist individuals with hearing impairments. Your expertise in positive reinforcement techniques will play a crucial role in creating life-changing partnerships between dogs and their handlers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement training programs tailored to individual dogs and handlers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and behaviours of hearing dogs.
  • Engage with families to provide support and training advice post-placement.
  • Participate in fundraising and community outreach activities.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss training progress and strategies.
  • Document all interactions and training sessions for future reference.
  • Stay updated on the latest training techniques and animal behaviour research.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma or Certificate III in Animal Care or equivalent qualification
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in training and developing animals, with experience in training hearing dogs being highly advantageous.
