Job Description

We are seeking a Deputy Attorney General to support the Attorney General in overseeing the legal operations of the government. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel to various government agencies and represent the government in significant court cases.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the Attorney General on significant legal matters.
  • Lead legal negotiations and settlements in major government cases.
  • Coordinate legal teams across government agencies to ensure unity in legal representation.
  • Draft comprehensive reports on legal issues affecting government policy.
  • Engage in proactive compliance monitoring and risk management.
  • Represent government interests in discussions with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Conduct and oversee legal research to support government initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of legal excellence within the team.
  • Assist in developing training and education programs for legal staff.
  • Monitor changes in legislation that may affect government operations.

Requirements

Education
  • Postgraduate degree in Law or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 10+ years in legal practice with a focus on public sector law
