Job Description

As an Animal Caretaker at ABC Mice Farm, you will be tasked with the daily maintenance of our mouse colonies, ensuring their well-being and health. If you're an animal lover with experience in care and breeding, we want you!

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily care and breeding of mouse colonies.
• Conduct health assessments and document findings.
• Ensure all habitats meet health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve breeding goals.
• Help implement policies for animal welfare and ethical treatment.
• Maintain cleanliness of breeding facilities.
• Train and mentor new caretakers.
• Provide support during research projects as needed.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Animal Studies or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in animal care, preferably in laboratory settings

Technical Skills

• Animal Husbandry

Certifications

• Animal Care Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with laboratory mice: Previous work experience specifically with mouse breeds.
