Job Description

As a Health Education Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting and educating new mothers about lactation. Your expertise will help families overcome breastfeeding challenges and promote effective feeding practices that foster infant health and maternal confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual assessments of lactation needs for new mothers.
  • Offer practical solutions for common breastfeeding issues.
  • Educate families on the benefits of breastfeeding and proper techniques.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
  • Document and track breastfeeding progress for each mother-baby pair.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions on lactation and infant feeding.
  • Build strong rapport and trust with mothers to foster open communication.
  • Evaluate and adapt educational materials to meet diverse needs.
  • Champion breastfeeding advocacy within the community.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or related field
  • Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lactation Specialist or similar role in a healthcare setting.
