Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health care and be dedicated to advocating for the rights and wellbeing of those living with mental illness. This role entails collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance mental health services and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in active listening to understand the needs of clients and their families.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive care.
  • Organise workshops and seminars on mental health topics for community education.
  • Provide consultancy to local organisations on best practices in mental health advocacy.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to mental health care.
  • Support clients in navigating the healthcare system, emphasizing their rights and options.
  • Prepare reports on advocacy initiatives and their outcomes.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on mental health policies and practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Mental Health or equivalent preferred
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with advocacy in a mental health capacity
