Genetic Counselor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Genetic Counselor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist patients and families in understanding their genetic health, provide them with the necessary support, and aid in decision-making regarding genetic risks and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient histories and document family health histories.
• Interpret genetic test results and explain implications to patients.
• Work closely with medical teams to develop tailored patient care plans.
• Facilitate patient understanding of complex genetic concepts.
• Participate in clinical research and improve service delivery based on findings.
• Contribute to the enhancement of departmental policies and procedures.
• Support patients through telemedicine or remote counseling services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Genetics, Genetic Counseling or a related field
• Additional specialization in areas like cancer genetics is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in genetic counseling, particularly with pediatric or oncology patients

Technical Skills

• Electronic Medical Records
• Telemedicine platforms

Certifications

• Registered Genetic Counselor certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
