Job Description

Join our team as a Hoist and Winch Operator! You will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery while managing log extraction processes safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate hoists and winches in forested areas.
  • Supervise loading and unloading processes to maximise safety.
  • Work closely with ground crew to ensure coordinated operations.
  • Participate in safety drills and training sessions regularly.
  • Keep machinery and tools in good working condition.
  • Record daily operational data and report to the Forestry Manager.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and systems as needed.
  • Lead by example in adhering to safety practices and standards.

Requirements

Education
  • Cert IV in Heavy Machinery Operations
  • Certificate in Forest Operations preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience operating hoists and winches.
