Job Description

We are hiring a Cane Splicer responsible for repairing and splicing damaged cane in our sugar cane farm. The successful applicant will operate and maintain machinery involved in these processes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to locate damaged cane sections.
• Execute repairs and splicing using proper machinery.
• Log all aspects of work for reporting purposes.
• Adhere to safety regulations in all aspects of work.
• Assist in training juniors on machinery operations.
• Collaborate with the team for effective harvest management.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in agricultural machinery is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role on a sugar cane farm

Technical Skills

• Ability to read technical manuals
• Welding and fabrication skills

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Physical fitness

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in GPS systems and precision agriculture technologies: Knowledge of how to use modern farming technologies.
• Experience in welding and fabrication: Ability to perform welding tasks as required in repairs.
