Job Description

Our team is on the lookout for a Forest and Conservation Technician, also known as a Grazing Examiner. This essential role involves assessing grazing areas and ensuring they meet local compliance standards. You will evaluate the condition of the land and livestock, providing recommendations to enhance land management practices, ensuring sustainability, and supporting farmers in best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess rangeland conditions, focusing on vegetation health.
  • Collaboratively develop grazing management plans with stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to sustainable practices within the grazing area.
  • Perform necessary inspections to maintain compliance with agricultural regulations.
  • Engage with farmers to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on sustainable grazing management.
  • Review and update grazing practices based on the latest research.
  • Participate in workshops and conferences related to land management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a similar field
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in land management or related areas
