Job Description

As a Cytogenetic Technologist, you'll perform complex laboratory tests, analyse findings, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide critical insights into genetic abnormalities. Your expertise will be key in developing diagnostic techniques and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of molecular tests, including karyotyping and FISH.
  • Generate and document detailed reports of laboratory findings.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance processes.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with procurement of laboratory supplies.
  • Stay current with advancements in cytogenetic techniques and technologies.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
  • Additional certifications in molecular genetics are highly regarded
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
Technical Skills
  • Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)
  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS)

Languages
  • English: Fluent
