Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Dairy Farmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our dairy farm, including milk production, herd health, and farm maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily milking operations while ensuring hygienic practices.
• Coordinate health checks and ensure timely veterinary care for the herd.
• Maintain and repair farm machinery and equipment.
• Train and support farmhands in daily operations.
• Document and analyze milk production metrics to inform operational decisions.
• Engage in pasture management to optimize grazing systems.
• Participate in community outreach and education about dairy farming practices.
• Conduct safety training for all farm staff.

Requirements

Education

• Cert III or IV in Agriculture or Dairy Production

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in dairy farming or related roles

Technical Skills

• Animal Husbandry

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with pasture management and grazing systems: Knowledge of effective pasture management practices to optimize herd health.
