Job Description

As an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver advanced nursing care to patients in fast-paced emergency settings. Your role includes collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and critical conditions.
  • Utilize advanced nursing skills to manage emergency situations effectively.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Participate in the training of new staff and nursing students.
  • Implement best practices in emergency nursing and patient care.
  • Foster a calm and safe environment for patients and their families.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments.
  • Engage in continuous professional education to keep abreast of current practices.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in practice.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Master of Nursing with a focus on Emergency Medicine is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as a registered nurse, with 3 years specifically in emergency settings.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging software
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Teamwork
Certifications
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent
