Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Squad Boss to lead and manage a team of firefighters in combating fires and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to environmental protection.
Responsibilities
Direct a team in effective firefighting strategies during emergency incidents.
Ensure all firefighting team members are trained and equipped for effective firefighting.
Liaise with other emergency services to enhance response strategies.
Conduct team briefings before operational shifts to ensure readiness.
Manage logistical support for firefighting operations, including equipment and supplies.
Engage in public awareness campaigns regarding fire prevention and safety.
Assist in funding applications for community fire safety initiatives.
Monitor team performance and implement improvements when necessary.
Establish a strong collaborative environment among team members.
Report injuries or safety hazards to management immediately.
Requirements
Education
Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is preferred
Experience
Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role in firefighting is a must
