Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Squad Boss to lead and manage a team of firefighters in combating fires and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to environmental protection.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a team in effective firefighting strategies during emergency incidents.
  • Ensure all firefighting team members are trained and equipped for effective firefighting.
  • Liaise with other emergency services to enhance response strategies.
  • Conduct team briefings before operational shifts to ensure readiness.
  • Manage logistical support for firefighting operations, including equipment and supplies.
  • Engage in public awareness campaigns regarding fire prevention and safety.
  • Assist in funding applications for community fire safety initiatives.
  • Monitor team performance and implement improvements when necessary.
  • Establish a strong collaborative environment among team members.
  • Report injuries or safety hazards to management immediately.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is preferred
Experience
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role in firefighting is a must
