Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team in Toowoomba. The ideal candidate will support teachers in delivering effective lessons and provide one-on-one assistance to students, contributing to a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the educational needs of students by providing individualised assistance.
• Assist in creating a safe and engaging classroom environment.
• Work closely with teachers to develop and implement instructional strategies.
• Help with administrative tasks related to lesson planning and student assessment.
• Encourage students to participate in classroom discussions and activities.
• Provide guidance to students in their academic and social development.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Education Support or similar
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education is preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in an educational setting

Certifications

• HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
• CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in tutoring or mentoring students: Previous experience in providing extra educational support to students.
• Knowledge of child developmental psychology: Understanding of child development stages and their impact on learning.
