We are looking for an experienced Operations Forester to manage our forestry operations in Melbourne. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring sustainable timber production while maintaining optimal forest health. This position requires strong knowledge of forestry practices and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute sustainable timber harvesting operations ensuring minimal environmental impact.
• Conduct regular assessments of forest health and contribute to monitoring programs.
• Manage project timelines and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Address stakeholder inquiries and facilitate community engagement initiatives.
• Implement and promote innovative forestry technology solutions.
• Create detailed reports on forestry operations and forest health assessments.
• Train and mentor junior staff and contractors in forestry practices.
• Collaborate with environmental specialists to address compliance and sustainability issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
• Certification in forestry management is advantageous

Experience

• Experience in sustainable forest management practices is desirable.
