Extraction Worker - Rock Dust Sprayer

Job Description

We are seeking a committed Rock Dust Sprayer to join our mining team in Townsville. This role involves operating and maintaining rock dust spraying equipment to prevent hazards in underground operations. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and ready to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Spray rock dust to minimize risks of explosions and hazards in mining areas.
• Document all spraying activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with other mining staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in regular inspections and audits as required.
• Report on the condition of rock dust and equipment performance to supervisors.
• Adapt to varying mining conditions and adjust spraying approaches accordingly.
• Work with a diverse team to achieve safety and production targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mining operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate IV in Mining or relevant experience

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in rock dust spraying or similar roles

Advantageous
