Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Building Carpenter Helper to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. In this role, you will assist experienced carpenters on various construction projects, ranging from residential homes to commercial buildings. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, reliable, and eager to learn the ins and outs of carpentry. Your responsibilities will include measuring, cutting, and shaping materials, as well as loading and unloading equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support carpenters in project tasks including framing, roofing, and finish carpentry.
• Assist in the transportation of materials to job sites.
• Help set up scaffolding and safety equipment.
• Maintain a tidy work environment by cleaning up waste and debris.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project updates.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and collaboration.
• Assist in the preparation of materials and inventory checks.

Requirements

Experience

• Completion of a vocational course or apprenticeship in carpentry would be advantageous.
