We're on the lookout for an experienced Hydroelectric Plant Electrician to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you'll be pivotal in maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment in our hydroelectric power generation plants. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our operations, directly contributing to sustainable energy production. Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards in all electrical work.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of upgrades to electrical systems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Participate in emergency response activities to ensure plant safety.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and reports for management review.

Requirements

Education
  • Electrician License or relevant electrical trade qualification
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship program
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hydroelectric power plant or similar industrial setting
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Experience with SCADA systems
Soft Skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Good communication skills
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with automation systems: Experience with SCADA and PLC programming in energy contexts.
  • Expertise in environmental practices: Understanding of sustainability practices in energy production.
