Tax Consultant

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Tax Consultant to join our Mildura office. In this role, you will assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and entitlements while providing tailored advice to support their financial decisions. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be fundamental in ensuring accurate tax filings and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients about their financial goals and provide tax-related insights.
• Develop a thorough understanding of client businesses to provide tailored advice.
• Ensure timely submission of tax returns and documents to the ATO.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff within the tax team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Additional certifications in tax law preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in tax consulting or compliance roles

Technical Skills

• Tax legislation
• Tax return preparation
• Excel and data analysis

Soft Skills

• Client management
• Communication skills

Certifications

• Tax Agent Registration with the Tax Practitioners Board

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in providing tax advice to SMEs: A background in advising small to medium enterprises will be beneficial.
