Freight Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Coordinator to join our team in Port Hedland. In this role, you will manage the logistics of freight transportation, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulations. You will collaborate with various teams to optimize our shipping processes and maintain excellent communications with clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement efficient freight coordination strategies.
• Ensure all shipments comply with internal and external regulations.
• Prepare and review freight-related documentation, ensuring accuracy.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling of freight.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with freight providers.
• Track down and resolve any issues with shipments to minimize delays.
• Work with finance to manage freight budgets and expenditures.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff within the logistics team.
• Act as a point of contact for all freight-related inquiries.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

Experience

• 2+ years in logistics or freight coordination roles preferred

Certifications

• Forklift License (if applicable)
