Psychiatric Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Technician to implement and support behaviour and skill acquisition programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The successful candidate will work closely with Board Certified Behaviour Analysts and contribute to the development of tailored treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing tailored therapy goals based on client assessments.
• Record and analyze data to evaluate therapy effectiveness.
• Engage in regular communication with families regarding client progress.
• Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
• Utilise therapeutic activities to promote skill development and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with educational staff when working in school-based settings.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary.
• Foster an inclusive and respectful environment for clients and families.
• Participate in meetings to discuss client progress and adjust strategies.
• Document all interactions and interventions in accordance with regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field
• BCaBA certification preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience working with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities
