Foundry Metallurgist

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Foundry Metallurgist to become part of our dynamic team. This role is perfect for individuals with a solid background in metallurgy and a deep understanding of foundry processes who are eager to make an impact by ensuring the quality and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead metallurgical evaluations during the production process.
• Identify and resolve quality issues in both raw materials and finished products.
• Develop and optimise metallurgical testing methods.
• Implement quality assurance measures and continuous improvement strategies.
• Conduct material property assessments and recommend material changes if necessary.
• Facilitate communication between foundry operations and engineering teams.
• Maintain compliance with environmental regulations specific to metallurgy.
• Prepare detailed reports on metallurgical processes and results for management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (advantageous)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a foundry metallurgy role, preferably within the metal casting industry.
