As a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor, you will play a crucial role in helping clients improve their behaviour and social skills. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group therapy sessions using evidence-based strategies.
  • Develop individualised treatment plans based on client assessments.
  • Assist families in understanding behavioural interventions and strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Participate in community events to raise awareness of behavioural health services.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve treatment protocols based on client feedback.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff and interns.
  • Engage in regular supervision and receive feedback to enhance practice.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Data Collection Strong skills in collecting and interpreting behavioural data.
  • Therapeutic Techniques Experience in applying evidence-based behavioral interventions.
  • Empathy Ability to connect and communicate with clients empathetically.
  • Team Collaboration Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving Excellent analytical skills for crafting effective treatment solutions.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): Knowledge of ABA principles to support effective interventions.
  • Experience working with clients on the autism spectrum: Relevant experience to engage effectively with diverse client needs.
