Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tie Sawyer to cut and shape wooden ties for railway tracks. The ideal candidate will ensure all products meet industry standards and specifications while maintaining a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Select suitable logs for cutting and shaping into wooden ties.
  • Operate saws, planers, and other machinery accurately.
  • Finish ties to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Document production processes for quality control.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals and challenges.
  • Train new team members on safety protocols and machinery use.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate III in Wood Machining or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
