Sewing Machine Operators

Job Description

As a Sewing Machine Operator, your primary responsibility will be to repair and restore hosiery garments such as stockings, pantyhose, and socks to their original condition. You will mend holes, fix runs, and replace elastic when necessary. We're looking for someone who can work with delicate materials and has excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess damaged hosiery items and determine the repair needed.
• Utilize tools and techniques for effective repairs.
• Ensure repaired items match original design and color.
• Maintain detailed records of repaired items and materials.
• Collaborate with production staff to meet deadlines.
• Provide feedback on fabric types and repair techniques.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Clothing and Textile Production or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in hosiery repair or a related field

Technical Skills

• Sewing
• Textile Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with industrial sewing machines: Hands-on experience with high-speed industrial sewing machines.
• Experience with dyeing and colour matching: Familiarity with colour matching techniques and dyes used in textile repair.
