Hand Violin Maker

Job Description

The Hand Violin Maker is responsible for mastering the art of crafting violins from scratch. This role requires excellent woodworking skills and a deep understanding of the mechanics of violins. You will work closely with musicians to create tailored instruments that meet their unique sound preferences.

Responsibilities

• Craft violins using traditional techniques to create authentic sound quality.
• Oversee the production schedule and ensure timely delivery of instruments.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on violins as needed.
• Train apprentices in violin-making techniques and best practices.
• Document the construction process for quality control.
• Work with musicians for feedback on sound and instrument functionality.

Requirements

Education

• Qualifications in fine arts or craftsmanship will be advantageous

Experience

• Experience with other string instruments and craftsmanship techniques is a plus
