Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, you'll play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists with diagnostic tests and patient care. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive eye examinations and performing various diagnostic procedures to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preoperative assessments and provide necessary patient education.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of ophthalmic imaging equipment.
  • Work closely with ophthalmologists to enhance patient treatment plans.
  • Monitor and record patient responses to treatments and report to the supervising ophthalmologist.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Ophthalmic Medical Technology or related field
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (e.g., Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT))
  • Current registration with the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist
