Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Cairns. In this role, you will manage financial records, prepare tax returns, and provide strategic financial advice to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations while offering insights to improve efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities

• Manage payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
• Oversee preparation of annual financial statements.
• Provide financial consultancy to a diverse client base.
• Assist in the management of cash flow and working capital.
• Create and revise policies for financial reporting.
• Contribute to strategic planning sessions with the senior management.
• Supervise junior accountants and provide mentorship.
• Engage with clients to assess their financial needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Research and implement new accounting software as needed.
• Prepare documentation for loan applications and other financial transactions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
• Postgraduate qualification in Accounting is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
