Job Description

As a Farm and Home Management Educator, you will develop nutritionally balanced meal plans and lead community initiatives focused on promoting healthy eating. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support to individuals and groups, ensuring everyone can access the knowledge to lead healthier lives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement meal planning workshops for community members.
  • Engage with local media to promote public health messages.
  • Work with schools to enhance nutrition education in the curriculum.
  • Evaluate nutritional programs based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Organize community events focused on cooking and nutrition education.
  • Assist in developing educational materials for diverse populations.
  • Lead food safety workshops for proper food handling and preparation.
  • Contribute to grant writing for funding nutrition initiatives.
  • Develop partnerships with local farmers to promote local produce.
  • Educate clients on managing their food allergies or intolerances.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field is preferred
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) accreditation is required
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role focusing on community nutrition
