Hydroelectric Plant Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Hydroelectric Plant Technician to join our maintenance team in Tumut. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment at our hydroelectric power station.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on electrical systems at the hydroelectric power station.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of maintenance work.
• Work collaboratively with the broader maintenance team to minimise downtime.
• Mentor and train junior electricians as required.
• Stay updated on new electrical technologies and practices.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
• Current electrical license

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience as an electrician in a similar environment

Technical Skills

• Electrical Systems Knowledge

• AutoCAD

• White Card

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with High Voltage Systems: Experience working with high voltage electrical systems in industrial settings.
