Animal Care Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Technician who is passionate about animal welfare. In this role, you will support veterinary staff in providing care to a variety of animals, ensuring their health and comfort. You will play a vital part in the well-being of our patients by assisting in examinations, administering medications, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for hospitalized animals and monitor their recovery.
• Help prepare animals for surgical procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all animal care areas.
• Document all treatments and interactions accurately.
• Assist pet owners with questions and concerns regarding their animals.
• Maintain a warm and inviting environment for clients and their pets.
• Support the overall mission of the facility in animal welfare.
• Participate in veterinary outreach programs.
• Stay current with best practices in animal care.
• Help organize and participate in community education events.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Veterinary Technology or equivalent
• Experience working with exotic pets is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years in a veterinary or animal care role with increasing responsibilities
