Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Orthoptist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with eye movement disorders, amblyopia, and strabismus. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver orthoptic assessments and treatment plans.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance programs.
• Promote patient-centered care within the practice.
• Contribute to research and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Orthoptics or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications in Orthoptics is an advantage

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in clinical practice as an Orthoptist

Technical Skills

• Binocular vision testing tools
• Patient management systems

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Organizational skills

Certifications

• Orthoptic Registration Board Certification
• Current CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with children's vision issues: Particular expertise in working with paediatric patients.
• Training in low vision rehabilitation: Experience or certification in supporting patients with low vision.
